Payroll Specialist required for my City Centre based client.

Salary: D.O.E.

Full Time, Permanent Position.


  • Responsible for the operation, maintenance, monitoring and processing of Payroll for staff;
  • Acting as a point of reference for employees in respect of payroll related queries;
  • Effective record keeping of changes to staff payroll records and tracking of future dated
  • Implement process improvements and streamline processes;
  • Partner with Human Resources to ensure consistent and accurate flow of information to
  • Work with all data providers to seek timely and efficient improvements in data compilation
    and accuracy;
  • Responsible for the submission of pay related tax returns;
  • Providing financial reports as required;
  • Performing such other duties as may be required from time to time within the Finance Dept;
  • Participate in and contribute to project work within the Finance Dept as appropriate;
  • Monitoring Revenue and legislative updates relevant to payroll and implementing necessary
  • Ensuring any future budgetary changes are reviewed and assessed for impact on our methods, system and data recording, to include active testing of scenarios;
  • Maintenance of Payroll policies and procedures;
  • Representing the best interests of the office at all times;
  • Complying with statutory legislation and office rules and requirements in furtherance of your
    own and general staff welfare and safety;
  • Undergoing programmes of training and development as may be required from time to time.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • At least 3 years’ experience working in a Payroll function;
  • Experience in executing high volume payroll runs in a diverse multi departmental / cost
    centre environment;
  • A recognised payroll / business qualification;
  • The role requires someone who has excellent attention to detail, and also a high level of
  • Experience in working in a team and dedication to building and maintaining strong
  • Strong communication skills with a high level of focus on customer service;
  • The flexibility to work in a changing environment;
  • Experience working in a Windows environment and strong IT skills, particularly Excel
    spreadsheets and accounting software. Knowledge of Core Payroll and Agresso Finance
    software would be an advantage;
  • Excellent spoken and written English language skills;
  • The ability to work on their own initiative;
  • An interest in pursuing a career in payroll / salary management and administration.
